SOURCECON - PHOTOS - Poker Tournament for Charity

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 |

In addition to all of the free-flowing knowledge, there were also plenty of poker chips and trash talking going on late (and very late) into the evening. The poker tournament raised $1,880.00 for the Positive Outlook Foundation –congratulations to the winner, Mr. Jeremy Langhans.

For the record, I do not know how to play Poker, but was amazed at my “beginners luck.” (Wink) Only those at SourceCon know for sure…

SOURCECON - From the desk of Leslie O’Connor

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 |

The kudos keep coming in from the SourceCon event. (Wow!) Here are a few quotes that have been piling up on the SourceCon desk. Congrats Leslie!

-Jim

“Hi Leslie, you have probably been bombarded with thank-you’s for such a fabulous event, but one more shouldn’t hurt. I had such a good time and I am grateful that you made this happen.” - Amybeth Hale

“Just a quick note to say congratulations on a job well done! SourceCon was stupendous, learned a lot, met a lot of great people and had a great time.” - Conni LaDouceur

“I’ll definitely tell my friends. SourceCon was the most interesting recruiting conference I’ve ever been to. I do full life cycle recruiting, but I find the sourcing piece to be most fun…so much so that the license plates on my car say “sourcer.” Thanks so much for organizing this conference. There’s been a huge need for something like this for so long. Finally, a conference I can go to where I don’t find myself dozing off!” - Alvin Horm

“Congratulations to you and the team for a job very well done. BGI will certainly be involved going forward. I personally thought, for an inaugural conference, the presenters were top notch and logistics professional.” - Roger Norton

“I wanted to thank you for putting this conference together. I learned so much – it was definitely a very good use of my time.” - Barbara Marks

“I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you this week and hope our paths continue to cross. The conference was obviously a success but, more importantly, many folks with a passion around sourcing were finally acknowledged by being a part of it and I’m sure they and you will build on this great start.” - Gerry Crispin

“Leslie, I’m so proud to say that I am a friend and associate of Leslie O’Connor. SourceCon is a huge success. I’m amazed by your vision, ability to execute on an idea and to produce a quality event on such a short period of time. Congrats!!” - Julian Sanchez

“I said it to you in person after day 1, but now it’s post-conference and I want to say it again. Thanks for conceiving and coordinating the conference. It was really the right idea at the right time and you executed it perfectly. Kudos to you and the others who put all the thought and work into the conference.” - Scott Hajer

“THANKS for your vision, initiative, and also your commitment to your vision. Very well done.” - Ray Towle

“This has been the best use of my time.” - Katie Deal

“Thank you for putting this together. I hope my management will allow me to return to SourceCon ‘08.” - Pete Bugnatto

“Awesome job!” - Chris Havrilla

“Excellent job guys!” - Mark Hyman

“I can not tell you how much I have enjoyed this conference. The information that has been presented has been invaluable. The knowledge of the presenters has been 200% above what I would have expected.” - Linda Diaz

“Thank you for a conference dedicated to sourcing!” - Melanie Schleif

“I can’t wait for SourceCon 2008″ - Valora Howell

“This conference exceeded my every expectation.. SourceCon was hands down, the best conference I’ve ever attended.” - Scott Hajer

“I would have been very happy to come away with one or two nuggets. I was so pleasantly surprised with the volume of really usable information.” - Sue Carroll

“Thank you for making SourceCon happen!” - Sherry Sharif

“This is the first recruiting conference I have attended in some time and I’m glad to have attended. It was razor focused to my area (sourcing) filled with good and applicable information I can use and share.” - Amy Weber

“This is the most energizing, thought provoking conference I have ever attended.” - Cathy McCullough

“A big thanks to the team who put this together. The event was extremely impressive - an amazing feat for the first year. This is a much needed focus and I plan on returning next year.” - Michelle Bennett

“SourceCon was aworthwhile investment of mytime and financial resources.” - Monica Parker

SOURCECON VIDEO - Registration Day

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 |

You know, it has occurred to me that it may be better served to simply add the videos in one big movie file instead of one-by-one. So, here is a collection of videos from the Registration Day of SourceCon2007. LOTS more later…

Enjoy!

SOURCECON VIDEO - Feel the love

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 |

It may sound kind of cliche, but there were really good people at SourceCon hanging out. I mean, it was like one big love-in, especially during the cocktail reception after registration. Come to think of it, the cocktails may have played an integral part. (Wink)

SOURCECON VIDEO - Hanging out with Russ Moon at SourceCon

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 |

I met Russ Moon a long time ago, so it was good to hang out with him again. (He is quite the character) I think one of his favorite phrases is “Bring it!” as he was quite the debater during the Q and A sessions. To me, he was saying what many of the people in the room were thinking. (Smile) If you don’t know what I mean, then I guess you were not there.

Here is a quick shot of me chatting with Russ.
