How to make video job descriptions (and why you should be producing your own) is the topic when Jim Stroud interviews Will Staney of VMware and investigates how they are successfully using video job descriptions to recruit active and passive candidates online. If you are not using video job descriptions in your recruitment strategy, no doubt you will consider it after this episode of The Jim Stroud Show. At the very least, video job descriptions are an employer branding opportunity your company cannot afford to miss. Download the show notes at: http://www.scribd.com/doc/75619563

Wow! Creating video job descriptions is a great idea. Thanks for sharing some valuable tips.
I think video job descriptions are an excellent idea. It adds an interesting take to recruiting candidates and a fresh, new and entertaining way for job seekers to find out about an opportunity.
You are a very talented VOC, Jim. You’re also talented at putting together an interesting program. Did you edit too? If so, another feather.
My only negative comment is the piece was about 5 minutes too long. The information conveyed could have easily been presented in <5 minutes. It might not have been as fun or allowed as many flourishes, but I was ready for it to end at exactly 4:46. I continued watching only to see the end, but I checked the time on it again at 7:24 and 8:45.
If you can capture the spirit and convey the information in under 5 minutes, you'll be a superstar.
Steve,
Oh wow! Thank you for all of the kind words. I TRULY appreciate your comments and will take them under consideration. Keeping my videos under 5 minutes is always a goal, but I sometimes struggle with my artsy side and I guess you can see who won this round. Check out my latest video “How to Post to Multiple Linkedin Groups from One Page.” I suspect it will be more to your liking.
Thanks again for the comment!
Jim
