History of Sourcing - free whitepaper- download nowWhat is this?

Some time ago (June 2007 to be exact) I wrote the first version of this piece. My original intent was to research the sourcing industry and track developments over the past 10 years or so which was my guess of how long the practice of Sourcing candidates has been online.  (Wow! I was more surprised than anyone else how long Sourcing has been around.) I have since updated my effort and wanted to share my findings with you. ( Click here to download this white paper now. )

Why wasn’t I (or my company) featured in your work?

Before you begin to consume the data, let me apologize to everyone I did not note in this work. If you think that I have overlooked a noteworthy accomplishment by you or someone you know, let me save us both an argument and say, “Yes, I probably did.”

To rectify any faux pas I may have initiated, allow me to extend the olive branch early and direct you to my Facebook page. ( http://tinyurl.com/searchologist ) If you would, click on the “Discussions” tab and fill me in on what I should have included. When I publish the next edition of this work, I will take all of the suggestions under advisement.

How did you get this information?

In case you are wondering how I gathered this data, I used 2 methods: a) I picked up the phone and asked somebody and b.) I researched the internet. When I spoke with someone directly, I cite their Linkedin profile (or homepage) in my list of sources. When I found the information online, I cite the URL. Several of the URLs are based on The Internet Archive. The Internet Archive is a 501 ( c ) (3) non-profit that is building a digital library of internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. As it is an unbiased 3rd party, I cited their links  quite a bit.

Can I share it?

You have my permission to post this data on your blog, website or company intranet. You may also email this data to other Recruiters (and HR personnel) in your network and/or print this data and pass it out at Recruiter networking functions. (Want to bundle this with some other product offering? Sure, why not… just let me  know.) In other words, feel free to share this information with anyone you like as long as you make no changes or edits to its content or digital format. In fact, I’d love it if you made lots and lots of copies. However, the right to bind this material and/or sell it without my consent is strictly prohibited.

Instructions on how to suggest content for the next edition is included in the white paper. ( Click here to download it now.  )

I look forward to your comments!

Cheers,

Jim Stroud
