How to track down passive candidates

Meet me at First Thursday! (Register now)

Imagine that you have found a very promising lead on a passive candidate, but having a bit of difficulty finding contact information and/or more details on their background. Well, not to worry, I have a strategy that could work for you. One thing I have noticed when tracking people online is that they tend to use the same usernames across multiple networks. For example, say you were to find my profile on Linkedin as “jimstroud.” Well, you might have some luck finding me on other social networks using that same alias. Of course, this tactic could take some time since there are a LOT of social networks out there. Fortunately, I recently discoved a tool that makes this a bit easier. Its called – “Where is your username registered?”

Its a cool app that searches for a particular username across multiple social networks. Once you have found the username you are seeking on a Social Network, take a look at the information that the User posted there and (hopefully) discover the information you are looking for.

Happy Hunting!
