The Recruiters Lounge is known for a lot of things, but not for supporting worthy causes. This year, I plan to change that.

The Recruiters Lounge is teaming up with BlitzTime to conduct a series of online networking events to support worthy causes. To join this event, all you will need is a telephone and an internet connection.  The cost of the event is $10.00 and all of the proceeds will be donated to the charity being supported that month.

Will you join me?

I imagine that you may have a couple of questions. I will try to answer them all here and in the comments of this blog post, in case I overlooked something.

QUESTIONS:

WHAT IS BLITZTIME?

BlitzTime is an innovative service that allows its users to interact over the phone for specific blocks of time. Think of it as speed dating, but for business.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

That one of the cool things about BlitzTime, it is soooo EASY to use.  The video below will give you the basics.

I am MORE than confident that once you use BlitzTime that you will be as hooked on it as I am. Click here to listen to the testimonials of others who have used the BlitzTime system.

* Can’t wait until First Thursday to try the BlitzTime system out? Click here to check out their Events Calendar. (The majority of the BlitzTime events are free of charge.)

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST AGAIN?

The cost of the First Thursday event is $10.00 and all proceeds go to a specific charity.

WILL YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE CHARITY BEING SUPPORTED?

The charity being supported in October is “Go Mamelodi.” Go Mamelodi is a charitable initiative focused on building homes, planting gardens, teaching children and transferring sustainable skills to assist families in Mamelodi, South Africa.  Amybeth Hale will personally receive these funds to sponsor her visit there. She will also act as a correspondent, taking pictures and blogging about her activities and how your contributions made a difference in the lives of so many people.

Amybeth will be traveling with Crossroads Community Church, a Cincinnati-based non-denominational Christian church. Crossroads made headlines in 2006 with their Go Mamelodi initiative and was featured on local news stations in Cincinatti, OH. Below is a clip of a newscast describing their successes.

I am so VERY excited to assist in raising money for such a worthy cause. I hope that I get a chance to speak with you personally about it on the First Thursday of October 2008.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
