Cool Tool - Webmynd shows you where you been
As many of you know, I live online. I search and search and go from here to there at the speed of mouse. Typically, I use my beloved - Diigo to track all of my bookmarks (and most likely always will), but I recently stumbled across a tool that might be of use in a pinch. Its called Webmynd and it gives you a visual trail of where you’ve been on the web.

Webmynd is not a standalone software application, but rather a plugin for the Firefox browser. So, unless you are runnng the Firefox browser it won’t work for you. (Sorry IE users!) Once its installed, you will notice a red dot at the bottom of your browser. (See the arrow?)

Here is a closer view.

At this point, all you have to do is surf the web as you normally do. At the end of the day, or whenever you want, you click a green player button located just to the right of the red dot we showed you in the previous image. Once you have done that, you will be given 2 options for reviewing the websites you visited previously. The first option is the “Reel” option which lets you look at a screenshot of each website you’ve visited one at a time.

The second option is the “Grid” view which shows about 20-30 screenshots at a time. You can click any one of the pictures to be taken to that website.

Another useful trick from Webmynd is that it integrates itself into Google; so that when you do a Google search, it mixes search results based on websites that you have visited in the past.

Here is a quick video showing you Webmynd in action. Check it out…
If you are a Firefox user, kick the tires on this one. Its a free app and doesn’t slow your system down, at least, not from what I can tell. (Now, where did I last see that resume? I forget the site I was on. It was just a second ago. )
