(From eGrabber)

Hi Jeff - Here is a simple explanation of why you experienced a failure.

As luck has it (badluck), LinkedIn changed the display format of all the profiles this week, around the same time you downloaded and tried the product. Since the layout changed, all mapping was garbled!

A new driver will be updated next week. All registered owners will get links to download the updated driver.

Jeff, we couldn't have grown our business volume year after year for 12+ years without building quality products.
I gaurantee that all our products work as advertised.

If you experience any problems or have suggestions, please feel free contact me directly at 408-872-3102.

Thanks
Chandra

I just downloaded egrabber and the social networkingg plug in. very buggy. and the fact they released it six months again and that the trial version still has bugs, makes me wonder. I was trying to transfer to Goldmine and I kept getting a "script debugging tool" to pop up. not sure what' goin on. Looks like a great tool -- would be nice if the programmers finished it.

To: Glenn

The tool is meant only to simplify manual copy and paste of information that you will be doing in your normal course of work. It is strongly recommended to use eGrabber's tool within the guidelines specified by the respective websites.

Warning about this or any product of this type: Indeed, you could use Broadlook Eclipse to do the same thing (though it's products are typically more expensive than eGrabber's), but either would be a violation of LinkedIn's terms of service. In fact, most subscription-based networks (free or paid) have some kind of policy against downloading data via automated spidering tools. Monster.com is another site that specifies that restriction for its resume database, and I know eGrabber has created a parsing module for Monster within its Resume Grabber product. I picked LinkedIn and Monster as examples because those sites have more robust and vigilant ways to detect the use of such tools by its subsribers. So while you might get away with it on other sites, those of you who choose to such spidering tools on sites like these may be in serious danger of losing your accounts.
