There is a fine line between Bounty Hunting and Recruiting. In both cases, you have to locate someone and in both cases, the person you are looking for is not always easy to find. The video below features – Jim Elliott, a professional bounty hunter.
Its fascinating to hear Jim Elliott’s take on the service he provides. He sees what he does as (more or less) a sales role with a major part of his work being wrapped up in psychology, marketing and strong people skills to get crucial information so that he can close a deal. It sounds a lot like Recruiters and Sourcers to me.
See how many of his techniques closely relate to finding passive candidates and list them in the comments section of this post. I will add a few of mine as well. Curious as to your thoughts?

Hmm… let’s see. A Bounty Hunter has to know how to interview people, sell himself as a solution to a problem (No ma’am, I want to bring him in for his own good.), handle rejection well and knows how to network people for leads.
Just off the top of my head. Do you see any other similarities?
