A different type of “Head” Hunter

Okay, when I read this report on Canoe News, I thought that a new low was reached. I mean, I had heard of using the “casting couch” to get ahead, but this was something else totally and I hope this guy shares a jail cell with a lonely roommate. Read below to see what I mean and (ummm…) apologies for the pun in the headline.

A Scarborough headhunter was convicted yesterday of posing as a Hollywood executive to lure two women to perform fellatio during phony job interviews.

Joe Thayaakaran Joseph admitted he used the ruse of being a vice-president of entertainment and media giant Viacom to try to seduce 20 or 30 women from 1995 through 2005 and that he sometimes succeeded in having consensual sex with them.

Justice Faye McWatt found Joseph, 35, guilty of sexually assaulting and unlawfully confining two women, one in June 2005 and another that July, in strikingly similar crimes. She rejected his story that the women consented.

“These stories have too many similar features to be coincidence. He never let down his ruse with either woman,” said McWatt, who branded Joseph a “liar.”

She said he told his victims that he was flying out that day to dissuade them from reporting him to police because he would already be out of the country.

“He’s a skilled and premeditated deceiver and I imagine he had a pretty good laugh to himself after he was done with (his last victim),” McWatt said.

Joseph intimidated his final victim with an imitation firearm and was convicted of sexual assault with a weapon. He committed that assault while his wife and child were waiting for him in a nearby church.

And get this! Come to find out that this Joseph guy had a successful headhunting firm called J Squared Staffing Solutions. I was curious so I looked up his site. Go figure… It was down and only the company logo and white space remained. I was however able to glean a screenshot of what it used to look like and post it below.
