(Another) New look for my comic – The Recruiting Life

With this edition of “The Recruiting Life” I am trying something different. You may notice that my comic is formatted somewhat differently than before. The engine behind this new look is Comiqs and I was so fascinated by their tech that I decided to give it a try. So for the next few comics I publish, expect my comics to look as they do below.

What you immediately see is not my entire comic, just the first page of my virtual comic book. To progress to the next page, simply click the “next” button as shown by the arrow below.

Also, to add this comic to your blog, which I hope many of you do; click the share link as shown by the arrow below and you will have some embed code to add into your next blog post. (Smile) I really hope my blogging friends will take advantage of that.

Last but not least, if you would, leave me your comments as they will help me decide how long I will carry on this experiment.

Thank you soooo much for your feedback.

P.S. The offer still stands to anyone who may want to appear in my next comicstrip. (Click here for details.)

And now without further adieu… The Recruiting Life, featuring Amybeth Hale and Dan Harris.

The widget is cool and easy to use, but it’s so big that it almost feels like I’m watching a cartoon.

The graphics are very “adult comic book” – artsy – perhaps too true to life, giving a serious impression to the unfamiliar reader. If that’s the angle you want, good choice, but I think you can find something lighter that would work better.

Jim,

Thanks for trying Comiqs and placing it on your blog. It looks great! Hope that your readers like it as well. :)

Jacob,

This is the default size of the widget but it can be resized easily as well to a smaller size.

cool! i found your site actually through the comics website. glad to see i can read more of your comic. funny stuff! ;)

NO!

(Just kidding…) Actually, Jim, I am really impressed with and like this interesting and innovative artistic annimation… I cannot think of the name of a cool movie I happened upon a cable channel, but they used this technology thruout… sort of reminded me of claymation – like the Mr. Bill series on the old SNL shows. Anyway, Jim, speaking of artistic talent – I really like your old stuff better! Seems more cut and dry, I’d say, in mocking this crazy recruiting biz… The new stuff is much more busy. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

Jim, I like it! Although I’m use to reading comics ;)

I like the format and how I may just click from one to the next.

Great Job on this comic strip! LOL and enjoyed it!

All The Best!

Ginnie,

Glad that you liked it, by saying that you liked Jim’s old stuff, do you mean in terms of the presentation style or the content?

Dan,

Look forward to you creating some Comiq strips on our site. :-)

Thanks,
- Michael from Comiqs
