A clever candidate-appreciation tool
Hat tip to Matt Grant for referring this bit of cleverness from “Mullen” (a big Boston Ad Agency).
What do you do to follow-up with candidates after the interview? Do you send a form email? (Boring) Or a hand-written note? (The best!) Or, do you do something different? Well, Mullen has chosen the different route by referring their interviewees to this interactive thank you page.
Once you visit the page, an envelope opens up and shows you a nice thank-you letter (shown below).

Clicking on the various highlighted words sparks a mini (often humorous) presentation. For example, clicking the “people” link will bring up Polaroids of office staff, followed by an invisible artist sketching sunglasses and missing teeth on the pictures. Cute.

Clicking on the “taste” link brings up a cookie recipe and a few invisible bites from a Cookie Monster.

There are a few other nice tricks on this page, but I do not want to ruin it for you, so go check it out. Usually, I see this type of effort given to attract candidates, not as a thank-you for your time message. Has anyone else seen examples of this type of efort post-interview?
