**special thanks to my friend Jeff for pointing me to the following information

Millward Brown, a marketing research and brand consulting company, conducted a survey in 2005 to identify the top brand names that people would tattoo on themselves. Here are the top 10 results of that research:
Harley - 18.9%
Disney - 14.8%
Coca-Cola - 7.7%
Google - 6.6%
Pepsi - 6.1%
Rolex - 5.6%
Nike - 4.6%
Adidas - 3.1%
Absolut - 2.6%
Nintendo - 1.5%
This was a pretty neat survey! I decided to take a look at each company and find out when they were founded:
Harley - 1903
Disney - 1923
Coca-Cola - 1886
Google – 1998
Pepsi - 1965
Rolex - 1905
Nike - 1971
Adidas - 1949
Absolut - 1879
Nintendo – 1889 (as a card company); 1977 (as a gaming system)

Congrats to all of the companies for being branded well enough that people would want to sport tattoo’s of their logos, but check out Google….less than a decade of existence and they are #4 on the list. The term google as it pertains to the search engine has even been added to dictionaries as a verb to describe how one might conduct an internet search.
Remember also this survey was taken in 2005. Google has risen in popularity in the past two years dramatically, evident in the cost of their stock which has risen from$193.85 per share in January of 2005 to $503.00 per share as of August 2007. (by the way, I got those stats using Google Finance)
So ask yourself: how permanent is your brand? Permanent enough for someone to sport your ink?
