Is Jim Stroud a sell-out? (Part 2)
Wow! I really appreciate the feedback I received on my previous post and those I received in email.
I sold my first blog – Jobseekers Revenge to CollegeRecruiter.com last year. Will history repeat itself? Nobody knows yet (and that includes me).
When I was approached with the question, “Is your site for sale?” I was dumbstruck. My initial reaction was “sure,” if the offer was right I would consider it and yet, I felt as if I was putting up one of my children for sale. I suppose it was nothing more than speculation until they started talking real numbers to me and a timeline. (Feel the pressure) So what am I going to do? I have so many days to decide either way and things being as they are, I have not closed the door to bids from other parties.
While I CAN NOT say who I am discussing this with, I am allowed to discuss what is up for grabs: (all of) my content on their site to include comics, podcasts, videos, etc; my site redirecting to theirs for an extended period of time; I retain my domain (but will not compete in this space for a period of time) and I advise them on blog content for an (as of now) undetermined amount of time.
As far as the right price, that is another sticky question, but I respect the deal Cheezhead was able to manuever and think I would do all bloggers a disservice if I were to dip below that standard.
Until a deal is made (or refused) I won’t openly discuss this again, but I appreciate your feedback immensely.
Sincerely,
Jim Stroud
