It seems that everyone, at some point or another in their lives, will be requested to write a letter of recommendation. No matter what position you occupy, employer, friend, neighbour, teacher, most people will be called upon to write a letter of recommendation. Writing a letter of recommendation might seem like a daunting task if you do not know where to start or how to proceed. Fortunately there are a few resources available to make your life easier.

How to write the first paragraph

The first part of a letter of recommendation should state how long you’ve known the person for and what kind of relation you have to this person. If the person is an employee, write out the term of employment and describe their daily activities and responsibilities.
