Yahoo’s new Social Network - Mosh and Google’s new Social Network - SocialStream

Written on July 9, 2007 – 8:03 am | by Jim Stroud |

Yahoo has a new social network out called “Mosh.” So far, its only available to those inside of Yahoo’s firewall. If that’s you (and you don’t already know about it), go to mosh.yahoo.com.

Google has a social network already - Orkut, but its not very popular here in the states. (I think its hot in Brazil, but that’s about it. Unless someone can correct me?) Well, Google has sponspored a project in the Master’s program at Carnegie Mellon University’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute called “SocialStream.” This project was guided by three goals that built upon each other:

Initial Task: Rethink and reinvent online social networking
Refined Focus: Discover the user needs related to social networking and explore how a unified social network service can enhance their experience.
Prototype Goal: Create a system for users to seamlessly share, view, and respond to many types of social content across multiple networks.

Google, socialstream, social network, linkedin

The features of SocialStream include:

      Aggregated Social Content
      Different Levels of Sharing
      Tracking Viewers of Content

Hmmm… sounds interesting. Thank you TechCrunch for the tip!
