Dr. Zareen Karani Araoz is an international management consultant and trainer, with expertise in developing cross-cultural teams, and in facilitating effective ventures across cultures. She specializes in building cohesive workgroups. She motivates managers and executives to develop a genuine understanding to build productive collaborations across differing cultural and managerial norms. Dr Karani Araoz comes originally from India, is based primarily in the US, and trains and consults in Europe, India, Japan and the US.
Dr. Karani Araoz is International Past-President of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training & Research (SIETAR International), the professional organization for intercultural specialists in 60 countries.
Dr. Karani Araoz is a Professor and Founder/Director of the pioneering Master’s Program in Intercultural Relations in the US, at Lesley College Graduate School, in Cambridge, MA, USA, where she trains cross-cultural management trainers. She has taught/lectured at management institutions around the world.
Dr. Karani Araoz consults with multinational corporations (like DuPont and AT&T) as well as universities and international organizations worldwide. She also trains diplomatic personnel and managers at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization(UNIDO), and is presently an NGO Representative to the United Nations.
She has worked closely with US corporations entering India and with Indian corporations collaborating with the US. She has trained US corporate country presidents, regional VPs and senior managers entering India, as well as the US ambassador entering India in 1992. She has consulted with 25 Indian corporations, both private and public, and has travelled between India and the US on an on-going basis several times a year, for the past 15 years. She works/consults with a team of international specialists and Associates, as needed. This has helped her develop experience-based strategic cultural insights, comparative materials, and a keen judgment of business decisions that avoid the common pitfalls and foster successful Indo-US ventures.
