What are people saying about your company? If you don’t know, you may want to find out. One way is to stand in a crowd of people, mention your company name and see how they react. Okay, maybe not the best way to get an unbiased opinion. Another way is to check out this new website I discovered - Peekface.

“Okay, sounds interesting,” I say to myself, let me see what they got. So I looked, but not much was there. Let me show you what I mean.ÂÂ
 1. This is the homepage. I searched for a number of companies, but kept coming up empty. I finally decided to just pick a location (see the arrow below).
2. Two companies came up for Los Angeles. I click on the second one which was Northrup Grumman Space Technology.
3. According to the watercooler chat, Northrup Grumman gets a B+ overall. In ”The Bad” section, they were referred to as “timecard nazis.” Good to know if I am seeking to recruit people away from there.  I can hear it now, ”We don’t have timecards here at Company X. As long as the work is done right and when we want it, come and go as you please.”
I like the potential of this site and hope it catches on. With enough data, this could be a host destination for recruiters as well as Jobseekers. In the meantime however, I will keep referring to Vault’s Employee Surveys for sanitized commentary or F-company when I want it raw and unedited. (Reader be sure no one is around when clicking that last link.)

This reminds me of a resource college students use called Rate My Professor. It’s a cite where students rate professors based on a number of qualifications and leave feedback. It was light on information at first but has caught on now has information on professors at over 6000 colleges and universities.
Peekface would be a great resource for the same type of screening. Users need to keep in mind to take some opinions with a grain of salt. However, if the majority of the responses say the company micromanages, then chances are there is someone looking over their shoulder as we speak.
Let’s hope this site takes flight. I love the inside scoop.
