A type of resume I don’t see everyday…
I bet you look at a lot of resumes. Am I right? (Sure I am.) I bet you get a lot of calls from candidates who want to know if you have received their resume. Am I right? (Sure I am.) Well, I feel your pain, which is why I was so pleasantly surprised to get the resume of… well… a very serious jobseeker.ÂÂ

The Serious Jobseeker did not simply send his resume against my proverbial wall to see if it would stick, he did something better. He submitted a resume via a CRM system called “Constant Contacts” (see the arrow below) and the beauty of that is he can track who has actually read his resume, when they read it and if they forwarded it on to someone else. I like this from his perspective because it takes away the ambiguity of whether or not I received it and (judging by how many times I opened his email, or forwarded it) if I have some sort of interest.

I really like it when candidates go beyond the status quo to get a recruiter’s attention. Hopefully this will be a lesson to other serious jobseekers out there.
Who knows?

This is a new and innovative technique. Having the ability to track who has actually read their resume could benefit all job seekers.
In regards to the last comment, monster and careerbuilder offer a service to blast out your resume to recruiters. Nothing wrong with taking it upon yourself to beat the competition.
[...] There is no doubt that job market is hypercompetitive, and as a result job seekers have to do whatever it takes to put themselves ahead of the competition. If you are a job seeker who has an entrepreneurial mindset, you can do what this one individual did as mentioned at JimStroud.com. This individual uses Constant Contact, an email marketing solution provider, to blast is resume to recruiters. It is a whole lot cheaper than what CareerBuilder charges for their resume blast service. CareerBuilder charges $59.99 for their Resume Direct Basic service that will mass distribute your resume to recruiters. [...]

or perhaps (not to rain on your parade) he was just being lazy and mass sent his resume to a list…
we used to call that pimping yourself out…
Oh wait, I left this industry…never mind.
