PRIVACY - Getting harder to do background checks on Facebook
Facebook Inc. said it is adding a new privacy option that lets users decide how much personal information to share via two controversial new features.
The new features, added Tuesday, are called news feed and mini-feed, and add an area to certain Web pages within Facebook that lets users easily track, say, whether a fellow user made a new friend or broke off a relationship. They have spurred a backlash among hundreds of thousands of Facebook’s 9 million-plus users, who complain that the features violate their privacy.
The new privacy option, which Facebook decided to add after reviewing the complaints, lets users decide which pieces of information the Web site should make accessible through the feeds. For instance, a user can now choose to block the feeds from tracking when he removes his relationship status or com ments on a discussion board, though other information still shows up. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based startup also hopes to soon give users the option of preventing any personal information at all from showing up in the feeds.

Finally, a person can be who they Personally, are w/o wondering about how it may affect their Professional life..
Gosh, think about it, how many things would we consider changing today if we knew then what we knew now..
Hope we see more of this to come…
