We’re here, we’re PEER, get used to it…

Hmmm… now this is an interesting article from eToychest.

–snip–

This morning we were informed of the formation of a new interactive entertainment industry trade association created to promote recruiting professionalism and performance. PEER (Professional Electronic Entertainment Recruiters) was created to establish and maintain ethical work standards and optimum recruiting service for game industry developers, publishers, and related industry companies. The part that catches my eye is “ethical work standards”, which I cannot help but think was established, at least in part, due to all of the furor surrounding EA and the treatment of its employees. ( OWCH!) The group seems to be a sort of “worker’s union”, as they say that in an era where quality of life and rapid growth are chief concerns, PEER gives its members “a representative voice.”

PEER launches with eight charter members: Digital Artist Management, Entertainment Technology Source, Exclaim Recruiting Agency, GameRecruiter.com, International Search Partners, Mary-Margaret.com, Premier Search, and Prime Candidate, Inc.
