I think Google is reading my blog…

I blogged awhile ago about how Yahoo’s 360 blogs were potentially a good way to find passive candidates, even before it went full steam. Well, either Google has been reading my blog for awhile (makes sense, since I used to work there) or somebody just recently tumbled across one of my strategies. Check this out…
Below is a screenshot from the blog of Naveen Jamal, a Yahooer who was approached (or is that spammed?) by a Google recruiter. Naveen was not feeling Google, so he decided to share his discontent with the blogosphere.
Here are some of Naveen’s more colorful comments…
i would consider, but your y! 360 page is sorely lacking in content. come on, atleast put up a fake photo, and rave about the free lunch program at G! and how come you have no friends? one would think with your aggressive y!360 habits, you would have both sergey and larry onboard.
has google really got desparate enough to start spamming y! 360?
i’ll reconsider interviewing at google when GOOG hits 85. please don’t fail to contact me then.
thanks for asking.
Naveen even took his angst a bit further and used Yahoo’s 360 polling feature to poll his friends on whether or not they had been approached. (Ouch!)
At this writing, 10 of Naveen’s friends had been approached. I notice that word must have spread quickly among the Yahooers because the Google recruiter has removed their Yahoo profile from the system. (In response to Yahooer hate-mail replies?) Check out the screenshot of the poll Naveen set up…

Ah, the perils of sourcing under the radar; just another day in the life of a Sourcer. Gee, I wonder what other little pearls of wisdom people are gleaning from my blog? (I say in all modesty.)
If you are one of them, let me know! I would love to hear from you.
E’ ya’ later… Jim
