Chatting with Jason of Recruiting.com

Jason Davis from Recruiting.com was kind enough to let me interview him for my blog. Here are the highlights for your reading pleasure.

1. For those few recruiters who are not aware of your website, will you explain what Recruiting.com is…

Recruiting.com is a recruiting blog that deals with the business of recruiting. There are many writers who contribute to Recruiting.com and as a result, the topic of conversation and level of discussion is always interesting.

2. How long has Recruiting.com been around?

Recruiting.com has been around for a couple of years now. Originally it was called Recruiting101.com but I changed it.

3. What was the inspiration behind Recruiting.com?

I first learned about Blogs from John Sumser who publishes a daily publication called Interbiznet.com He started talking about blogs and how they will add to, and change the way people can communicate around certain ideas. I started my original blog, which was Recruiting101.com shortly after reading about them.

4. Recruiting.com received a lot of press and attention due its Blog Awards. How did that bolster your sites popularity?

I have to say it ended up proving to be one of the best experiences I have had with the blog. The original idea came from Joel Cheesman who thought Recruiting.com would be the best blog to develop and host the Best Blog Awards. People became very interested quickly in supporting it. What happened is that the people out there writing recruiting blogs started to write about it and we all became genuinely interested in the process. Jobster will be the main sponsor again this year.

5. What is the future and near-future of Recruiting.com?

The great thing about Recruiting.com is that it’s a blog and so it moves at Blog pace which is fast. As a result, we will do lots of different things this year. Other than a good deal of daily content, I will be announcing the Recruiting.com 2006 Best Blog Awards shortly and we give away lots of Starbucks coffee every week.
