Owch! Dumbfind blasts Google on censorship
The following is a statement from Chris Seline, Founder and CEO of Dumbfind:
“Google adopted the corporate motto ‘don’t be evil’ to gain the public’s trust. By cooperating with censorship, Google has violated that trust. The decision to censor search results also sends an inconsistent message to users, especially when citing ‘usability’ issues as an excuse.
“We are in the business of informing all people what is available in the world, and I believe we have a duty to be consistent in this task. The people of China should be able to read about Tiananmen Square or anything else found on Internet sites. We will provide comprehensive search results on http://www.dumbfind.cn. We challenge the Chinese authorities to block us and are confident that Chinese users will find their way around the firewalls.
